Men's Soccer Announces 2017 Schedule

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross director of athletics Nathan Pine and head men's soccer coach Marco Koolman have announced the Crusaders' schedule for the 2017 season. The schedule includes a total of 17 regular season games with nine taking place at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders will face off against three teams who played in the 2016 NCAA Tournament (Colgate, Dartmouth, Delaware).

CRUSADERS TAKE ON STRONG NON-CONFERENCE COMPETITION


Holy Cross will begin its season on the road at Hartford on Friday, August 25. The Crusaders will start September at home against CAA champions Delaware on Sunday, Sept. 3, before kicking off a three-game road trip. On Sept. 6, Holy Cross will travel to Siena before heading to Brown on Sunday, Sept. 10. The Crusaders will compete at New Hampshire on Wednesday, Sept. 13, before returning home to host Ivy League champions Dartmouth on Sept. 16 and Northeastern on Sept. 20.

OPENING PATRIOT LEAGUE PLAY

Holy Cross begins its Patriot League play at Navy on Sept. 23 before hosting Lafayette on Sept. 29. The Crusaders then travel to Turnpike Trophy rival Boston University on Oct. 4 before returning for a three-game homestand. The Crusaders will host Bucknell on Oct. 7, Rhode Island on Oct. 10 and American on Oct. 14, before heading to Loyola Maryland on Oct. 21. The Crusaders finish off October by playing at home against 2016 Patriot League champions Colgate on Wednesday, Oct. 25 and competing away at Army on Oct. 29. Holy Cross will conclude its regular season at home against Lehigh on Saturday, Nov. 4.

THE PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

The top six teams in the final regular season standings will qualify for the Patriot League Tournament. The No. 3 seed will face the No. 6 seed, and the No. 4 seed will face the No. 5 seed in the quarterfinals on Nov. 7 with the higher seed hosting each game. The tournament will then be re-seeded after the quarterfinals. The No. 1 seed will host the semifinals on Nov. 10 and the championship game on Nov. 12.
