Arno Rupp Named C&R Tire Crusader Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior forward Arno Rupp has been named the C&R Tire Crusader of the Week, for competition from Nov. 6-12. Rupp led the Holy Cross men’s soccer team to the championship game of the Patriot League Tournament last week.

During Tuesday’s 3-0 victory at Lehigh in the Patriot League quarterfinals, Rupp scored the game-winning goal with an unassisted tally just 2:57 into the game. Then in the Patriot League semifinals on Friday, he netted the game-winning penalty kick as the Crusaders won 4-1 in a shootout after playing Boston University to a 0-0 tie. In Sunday’s championship game, Holy Cross fell to Colgate 1-0.

Overall this season, Rupp led the team in scoring with 18 points on eight goals and two assists. Over the course of his Holy Cross career, he totaled 17 goals and nine assists for 43 points.

The Crusaders finished the season with an overall record of 7-9-4, including a 4-3-2 mark in Patriot League regular season play.
