WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men’s soccer team will play at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium on Friday, Aug. 31 at 7:05 p.m. against non-conference opponent, Siena.

Things to Know About Holy Cross:

  • In their season opener, the Crusaders fell narrowly to then-No. 16 Fordham, 2-1.
  • Henry Stutz made six saves while Owen Azrak was the lone Crusader to tally a goal in the game. Azrak scored on a penalty kick.
  • Holy Cross outshot Fordham, 13-9.
  • Sophomore midfielder Max Krause returns as the team’s leading point scorer. Krause led the 2017 team in assists, with four.
  • Mason Brummett, Owen Azrak, and Eoin Houlihan will lead the team as captains, as announced by head coach Marco Koolman.
  • Freshman forward Simon Becher was selected to Top Drawer Soccer’s Best XI Preseason Freshman Team. To read more, click here.

  • Siena comes to Holy Cross with two games played, for a 0-1-1 record.
  • The Saints played in the HBU Invitational, where they tied Houston Baptist and fell to Utah Rio Grande Valley.
  • The Saints are led by Aaron Martin, who has tallied one goal and one assist. Martin was also named the MAAC Rookie of the Week.
