Crusaders Set To Host New Hampshire

The Holy Cross women’s lacrosse team will host New Hampshire this week. Here is what you need to know as the Crusaders enter the fifth week of the season.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • The Crusaders (2-3) will host New Hampshire on Wednesday, March 1 at 5:05 p.m.
  • The Wildcats won the last meeting between these two teams with a 16-6 win on March 2, 2016. New Hampshire leads the all-time series, 18-2. The Crusaders’ last win was a 12-11 overtime victory versus the Wildcats on Feb. 28, 206. New Hampshire is 0-3 so far this season with losses versus Harvard (18-11), Dartmouth (18-8) and UConn (13-9).
  • After the New Hampshire game, the Crusaders will travel to Burlington, Vt., to take on Vermont on Tuesday, March 7 at 3:00 p.m.

WARD LEADING THE TEAM IN SCORING:

  • Senior captain Maddie Ward leads the team with 10 goals and 10 points this season. She has two hat tricks this year with three goals each versus Fairfield and Iona.

  • Ward has 49 goals and eight assists for 59 career points.

CRUSADERS RANKED NATIONALLY AND IN THE PATRIOT LEAGUE:

 

  • Junior goalie Julia Maloney leads the Patriot League and is 13th nationally with 40 saves. Her 3.00 ground balls per game are ranked fourth in the league and 50th nationally.
  • Senior Maddie Ward is eighth in the conference and 79th nationally with 10 goals. Freshman Maggie Moriarty is sixth in the the league and 52nd nationally with six assists, while senior Mary Patalita is 10th in the conference with four assists.
  • Senior Anna Johnson is fifth in the league and 85th nationally with 2.80 ground balls per game.
