Women's Lacrosse Earns A League-Best 16 On Honor Roll
WORCESTER, Mass. - Sixteen members of the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team have been selected to the 2009 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including freshman Cami Thompson (Rockville, Md.) who earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the spring semester. She was just one of only four student-athletes on the women's lacrosse Academic Honor Roll to have a 4.0 average. Holy Cross' 16 selections were the most in the league.
The other members of the team to be named to the Academic Honor Roll were seniors Kelly Casey (Newtown, Pa.), Kaitlyn Curley (New York, N.Y.), Lisa Gagne (Groton, Mass.) and Samantha Hallowell (Duxbury, Mass.); juniors Megan Fenton (Bridgewater, N.J.), MaryKate Finnegan (Rockville Centre, N.Y.), Katie Gardner (Garden City, N.Y.) and Katie Riddle (Cheshire, Conn.); sophomores Katelyn Gettens (Concord, N.H.), Maryalice Gill (Nashua, N.H.), Mary Milley (Fairfax, Va.), Rachel Murray (Chicago, Ill.), Meg O'Leary (Longmeadow, Mass.) and Cassie Rudden (Hopkinton, Mass.); and freshman Catherine Crowe (Davidsonville, Md.).
A total of 78 student-athletes from women's lacrosse teams around the league were named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League sponsored winter or spring championship sports.
