Crusaders Compete On Day One Of National Championship

THE BASICS:

  • Regatta: IRA National Championship

  • Location: Gold River, Calif. (Lake Natoma)
  • The Lead: The Holy Cross men's varsity four competed on day one of the 115th Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship on Friday on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Crusaders finished second in their opening heat out of six boats with a time of 6:42.087. Marietta won the heat to directly qualify for the semifinals with a time 6:38.131.
  • The Crusaders (6:47.397) then placed third in their repechage, while Harvard (6:44.889) and Dartmouth (6:46.750) advanced. Oregon State (6:58.871) was fourth and Gonzaga (7:07.829) was fifth.

UP NEXT:

  • The varsity four will compete in the consolation semifinals on Saturday, June 3.
