The Lead: The Holy Cross men’s cross country finished 17th out of 33 teams at the Shriner Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday morning.

 HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The top finisher for the Crusaders was freshman Jackson Skelley who took the 72nd spot with a time of 27:14. Behind him, finishing 78th, was senior Michael Andre who notched a time of 27:20.
  • Other top finishers for Holy Cross were sophomore William Hoffmann (125th; 28:18), junior John Albinson (127th; 28:19) and senior Max McKee (147th; 28:57).
  • American International captured the team title with 52 points, and the Yellow Jackets’ Byrne Mitchell took first place as an individual with a time of 24:50.

  • Holy Cross returns to action on Oct. 1 when the Crusaders travel to Bethlehem, Pa., for the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh.
