Cross Country to Run in Patriot League Championships
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Holy Cross men's and women's cross country teams will be competing in the Patriot League Championships Saturday, Oct. 28.
The men will run the 8k race at 11 a.m. and the women will run the 6k at noon. Team scoring will be based on each team's top-five finishers. For both the men's and women's races, the top seven finishers will be named to the All-Patriot League First team. The second team will be comprised of the eighth through 14th place finishers. Patriot League awards will also be distributed after the race for Patriot League Runner of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
The men's cross country team will send two freshmen, Hayden Ivatts and Joe Doerr, two sophomores, Chris Shakespeare and Alex Campagna and two juniors, William Hoffmann and Joseph Prunty to the meet. Four seniors will lead the Crusaders: Bryan Gallagher, Alec Hilton, Thomas Kalantzakos and Bill Christ. The Crusaders finished seventh at last year's Patriot League Championship.
The women's cross country team will have four freshmen, Elizabeth Graves, Claire Hanlon, Cricket Richter and Alyson Walsh and two sophomores, Allie Christian and Jenna Gasparrini competiting in the 6k.
