Tierney Finishes First in Two Events, Crusaders Take Third Overall

Final Score: Boston College (1,461), Providence (702.50), Holy Cross (590) and Fairfield (467.50)
Location: Chestnut Hill, Mass. 
Date: Oct. 13-14, 2017
The Lead: The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team took third place out of four teams at the New England Catholic Invitational. Junior Steve Tierney placed first in the 100 and 200 fly events. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Freshman Nathan Kramer placed third in the 500 free with a finals time of 4:53.86. Kramer also finished third for the Crusaders in the 400 IM with a time of 4:16.49.

  • Tierney placed first in the 100 fly with a time of 52.34. He also placed first in the 200 fly with a finals time of 1:59.63. 

  • Senior Jimmy Nugent finished third in the 1m diving with a score of 192.60. He also placed second in the 3m diving with a score of 179.65.

The Crusaders will come back to Worcester to host Fairfield Oct. 27 at 4:00 p.m.
