Track & Field Teams Place Three On Academic All-Patriot League Squads
WORCESTER, Mass. – Three Holy Cross student-athletes from the track and field program were voted to the Academic All-Patriot League team, as announced by the league on Monday. The three Crusaders selected were senior Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.) and junior Henry Dodge (Rumford, R.I.) of the men’s team, and sophomore Hannah Jeter (Eden Prairie, Minn.) of the women’s team. In order to be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Keefer and Jeter were also selected Academic All-Patriot League for the indoor season.
Keefer, an Economics major with a grade-point average of 3.69, ran the 800 m at the Patriot League Championship, finishing fourth with an IC4A qualifying time of 1:51.25. He also ran in the 4x800 m relay team that placed fifth with a time of 7:43.15. Keefer is a 360 leader in the Holy Cross Leadership Academy, and a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recipient. He holds the Holy Cross records in the 500 m and 800 m running events.
Dodge, a Chemistry major with a grade-point average of 3.86, ran in the 1500 m race at the Patriot League Championship, earning the 11th overall finish in a time of 3:59.94. Dodge also ran in the 5k, with his best performance coming at a multi-team meet hosted by New Hampshire where he finished fifth overall at 15:45.88. He also competed in the 800 m run at Holy Cross’ home meet vs. Rhode Island and Worcester State, where he finished fifth at 1:58.79. Dodge has been a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Jeter, an Economics major with a grade-point average of 3.95, ran the 10k race at the Patriot League Championship, finishing 11th overall with a time of 38:57.51. She also competed in the 5k during the outdoor season, earning her best time of 17:34.34 as she placed first at the George Mason Spring Invitational. Jeter is a member of the Holy Cross Leadership Academy, and has earned multiple accolades in her career including Patriot League Rookie of the Year and All-ECAC honors.
