Crusaders Tabbed Sixth In 2016 Patriot League Preseason Poll
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's golf team was picked to finish sixth in the 2016 Patriot League Preseason Poll, which is voted on by the head coaches and sports information directors from around the league.
Boston University, the 2015 Patriot League Tournament champion, was selected to repeat in 2016, as it garnered 50 points and 10 first-place votes.
Richmond was picked second with 38 points and two first-place votes, while Lehigh was voted third with 33 points. Bucknell (fourth, 29 points), Navy (fifth, 20 points) and Holy Cross (sixth, 10 points) round out the remaining three spots in the poll.
The 2016 Patriot League Women's Golf Championship will be held at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa. on April 23-24. The Patriot League Women's Golf Championship is a 54-hole event with 36 holes of play scheduled for Saturday and the final 18 set for Sunday. Teams will field six golfers each, with the low four scores each round to be counted towards the team total.
The Holy Cross women’s golf team begins the 2016 spring season today, when it heads to Boulder Creek, Nev. on Monday and Tuesday, March 7-8 to play in the Bison in Las Vegas Invitational.
