T.J. Moore Named Assistant Captain
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men’s hockey program has named junior forward T.J. Moore an assistant captain.
"It is my pleasure to announce T.J. Moore as an assistant captain,” said Holy Cross head coach David Berard. “T.J. has earned the respect of his teammates and coaches with the contributions that he has made both on and off the ice. Since he arrived at Holy Cross, T.J. has always led by example with his play. This year, he has taken a big step forward in his growth as a leader, becoming more vocal and holding his teammates accountable to the standards of our program. T.J. is a great addition to our already strong leadership group of Brett Mulcahy, Tommy Muratore and Mike Barrett."
This season Moore has 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points. He leads the team in goals and points, while he is fourth in assists. Moore is second in Atlantic Hockey in goals and is fourth in points. For his career, he has 37 goals and 33 assists for 70 points. Moore set school records by recording two straight hat tricks as the Crusaders went 1-0-1 at Niagara on Oct. 7-8. He is the first player in the program’s Division I history to record two straight hat tricks. Moore is also the first player to post three career hat tricks and the third Crusader to have a hat trick in a period.
"It is an honor and a privilege to be named as an assistant captain,” said Moore. “I take this responsibility seriously and look to help lead our team to a championship level. We are continuing to learn and grow as a team each day. I am excited to help our team reach its full potential."
The Crusaders start the second half of the season when they host Canisius on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 30-31, at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex in Worcester, Mass., at 4:05 p.m.
