Victoria Young Earns NEWHA Defensive Player of the Week Award

WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore defenseman Victoria Young was named the New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Defensive Player of the Week for play from Dec. 31-Jan 6.

Young recorded four assists against Post University on Jan. 5 in the Crusaders' 11-1 victory. Young also went +9 in the two games against Post. The sophomore has recorded three goals and six assists through 15 games played. 

The NEWHA is comprised of six Division I/II independent women's hockey schools: Holy Cross, Post, St. Michael's. Saint Anselm, Franklin Pierce and Sacred Heart. The Crusaders will compete within the NEWHA for the 2017-18 season until the team transistions to Hockey East next year.
