Women's Soccer Announces 2017 Captains
“I am very proud of the leadership group we have going into this season, especially with Emily, Caitlin and Allie as our captains,” said Brown. “These three have all taken a huge step into their own leadership development and have extended the quality of influence they can have within this program. The team is in a great place heading into the upcoming season. We have high aspirations and these leaders are prepared to help us reach our goals.”
Harty appeared in all 17 games for the Crusaders in 2016, making 14 starts. She notched the first goal of the season for Holy Cross in the 3-1 win over Iona in the season opener. In her career, she has made 34 appearances while missing her sophomore season due to injury. In that time, Harty has totaled four goals with two assists for 10 points. She is a three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
George will serve as a team captain for the second consecutive year. Having appeared in all 17 games in 2016, she notched four points on the season with one goal and two assists. So far in her career, George has appeared in 49 games for the Crusaders while tallying 10 points on three goals and four assists. A Veteran Leader in the Holy Cross Leadership Academy, George was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2014 and 2016.
Neumann saw action in all 17 games during the 2016 season while starting 16 times for the Crusaders. In that time she tallied a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the team's win over Iona in the season opener. In her career, Neumann has made 29 appearances for Holy Cross while adding three goals. She serves as an Emerging Leader in the Holy Cross Leadership Academy.
The Crusaders finished the 2016 season at 3-12-2 with a 2-5-2 mark in Patriot League play.
