Taylor Wahler Named C&R Tire Crusader Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore shortstop Taylor Wahler has been named the C&R Tire Crusader of the Week, for competition from March 27-April 2. Wahler went six-for-12 at the plate for the Holy Cross softball team as the Crusaders won two of three games at Army West Point. The last time Holy Cross won the series over Army was 2001, while the Crusaders are off to their best start in conference play since 2014.
Wahler led the team with a .750 slugging percentage, four RBIs and hit her first home run of the season. She had three RBIs in the 4-2 game two win over Army, including a two-run home run to left field that hit off the scoreboard.
She has a .500 batting average (11-for-22) over the past six games, tallying at least two hits in five-straight games and at least one hit in six-straight games. Wahler leads the team this season with a .368 batting average, 25 hits and two triples.
The Crusaders (5-16 overall, 2-1 Patriot League) return to action on the road from April 8-9 at Patriot League opponent Boston University for a three-game series as part of the Turnpike Trophy series.
