Softball Places 14 on Patriot League Honor Roll
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross softball team placed 14 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league. The Crusaders placed the second most on the Honor Roll in the league, with 14 selections. Holy Cross also improved from 11 selections in the 2017 season.
Holy Cross was led by Taylor Wahler, who recorded a 4.00 GPA as an Interdisciplinary Studies major. Whaler is just one of eight Patriot League student-athletes to have recorded a 4.0 during the 2018 spring semester.
Seniors Mandy McCarthy, Taylor Moss, Gabby Muniz, Katy Watson, and Savannah Young earned a spot on the Honor Roll. Juniors Jackie Brewster, Alexandra Held, Olivia Sloane, and Wahler; sophomores Sydney Behrens, Carley Boothe, Sydney Burr, and Molly Neil; and freshman Elizabeth Wade received Honor Roll recognition.
Brewster, a three-time selection, was also the 2018 Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year.
The seven Patriot League softball teams combined to place 85 student-athletes on the sport’s Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Patriot League Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
