  • The Lead: The Holy Cross men’s golf team placed 15th overall at the Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge on Sept. 24-25.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Sophomore Joe Egan led the Crusaders, earning round scores of 79 and 77 for a two-day total of 156. Egan tied for 49th overall in the tournament.
  • Sophomore Jake Peer finished in a tie for 61st overall, shooting an 85 in round one and a 74 in round two for a total score of 159.
  • Placing 69th overall was freshman Joe Brosseau, who earned round scores of 76 and 85 for a total of 161 over two days of competition.
  • Freshman Drew Gerety shot an 86 in the first round and followed up with an 83 in the second round for a 169 total score, placing him 82nd overall.
  • In 84th place, junior Joe Blando earned a two-day score of 174, including round scores of 86 and 88, respectively.
  • Rhode Island placed first overall in the tournament with a team score of 578, as Chris Houston of the Rams placed first individually with two rounds scores of 70 for a 140 total.
