Women’s Tennis Sweeps Johnson & Wales On Senior Day

  • The Lead:The Holy Cross women’s tennis team earned a 7-0 victory over Johnson & Wales on Sunday afternoon in Worcester.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Senior Isabela Bagi and junior Katie Elia earned an 8-4 in the No. 1 doubles match to give Holy Cross its first point of the day. Bagi won the No. 3 singles match with scores of 6-3 and 7-6 (3), while Elia won the No. 2 singles match at 6-3, 0-6 and 1-0 (5).
  • Sophomore Allison Reiling and classmate Morgan McGuire posted an 8-4 victory in the No. 2 doubles match. Reiling earned a singles victory in the No. 1 match with scores of 7-5 and 6-3, while McGuire won the No. 4 singles match by scores of 7-5 and 6-4.
  • Freshman Eleanor Fulghum and sophomore Fiona Busser won the No. 3 doubles match by a score of 9-7 to earn the sweep in doubles play for Holy Cross.
  • Sophomore Jennifer Kary won the No. 5 singles match by scores of 6-1 and 6-0.
  • Sophomore Caroline Kam earned the win in the No. 6 singles match at 6-0, 6-0
