Volleyball to Host Annual Cancer Awareness Match

Holy Cross Athletics   10-19-2017

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross volleyball team will be hosting its annual Cancer Awareness game Saturday, Oct. 21 at 6:00 p.m. against Lafayette. The Crusaders will be collecting money for Pink Hippy, a Worcester non-profit organization that works to provide services and support for cancer patients, survivors and their families.

Del Bachand is the president of Pink Hippy and has partnered with Holy Cross volleyball to help spread awareness and raise money for the local non-profit.

"The Holy Cross volleyball team is raising awareness for not only our organization but also for the other types of services that help breast cancer patients through treatment and into survivorship,” Bachand said. “The funds the team is raising will provide oncology massage sessions, meditation and restorative yoga classes for those currently in treatment. We truly appreciate the wonderful support."

The volleyball team will be taking donations on Saturday against Lafayette and there will be a raffle at the marketing table at the match.

The Crusaders will also be selling t-shirts on Friday and Saturday before the matches and at the football game against Colgate.
