HOW IT HAPPENED:
Sophomore Alex Gionisregistered the only hit for the Crusaders in the second at-bat of the game with a double to right center.
Auburn posted four runs on five hits in the bottom of the first inning, as four players picked up RBIs.
Following the first inning, senior Phil Reesepitched four scoreless innings before sophomore Pat McGowancame in to pitch in relief in the sixth inning.
The Tigers added another run in the sixth inning, scoring on a wild pitch, before posting two runs on three hits in the bottom of the eighth inning.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
Auburn outhit the Crusaders 12-1.
The Tigers left five runners on base, while Holy Cross left three.
Reese took the loss for the Crusaders, allowing four runs on seven hits.
Keegan Thompson earned the win for Auburn, throwing eight scoreless innings while allowing one hit.
Holy Cross is back in action tomorrow, as they continue their series with Auburn at Plainsman Park at 1:00 p.m.
