The phrase student-athlete doesn’t quite do justice to Anthony Critelli.

Student-athlete-citizen is more appropriate.

Whether he’s spearheading a charity event, acing an economics test or smacking a home run for Holy Cross’ baseball team, Critelli is touching ‘em all up in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Somebody important has noticed. The Christian Brothers Academy graduate is one of 30 nominees for the Senior Class Award, which goes to the most well-rounded senior baseball player in Division I. The winner will be announced during June’s College World Series.

“It’s a lot of time to put in, being an athlete, a student, and doing the extra-curricular stuff. But it’s definitely worth it,” Critelli said via phone Monday.
