Brendan King Named Patriot League Pitcher Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Brendan King has been named the Corvias Patriot League Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday. This is the third conference weekly award for King in his career, and the first this season.

King had a stellar outing in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader at Army West Point, pitching a seven-inning complete game shutout as Holy Cross earned a 2-0 victory. He allowed just five hits and one walk in the win, and tossed a season-high eight strikeouts.

King now stands 2-4 on the season with a 3.75 earned run average, three complete games and 32 strikeouts. Over the course of his Holy Cross career, he owns a 12-7 record with a 3.12 earned run average, seven complete games and 140 strikeouts.

The Crusaders are set to return to action on Wednesday, April 19, when they play host to Siena at 5:05 p.m.
