The Holy Cross baseball team returns to action on Wednesday, April 19, as the Crusaders play host to Siena at 5:05 p.m.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE CRUSADERS:

  • The Crusaders are currently 15-19 overall on the season with an 8-4 mark in Patriot League play.
  • Holy Cross is coming off a 3-1 weekend at Army West Point, earning two wins on Saturday before splitting Sunday’s doubleheader. To read the recaps from over the weekend, click here: (Saturday | Sunday).
  • Senior Anthony Critelli leads the Crusaders with a .324 batting average on the season. He has tallied 18 runs batted in and 18 runs scored while leading the team with six home runs. He also leads the Crusaders with a .552 slugging percentage.
  • Freshman Austin Masel has also had a strong season offensively, ranking second on the Crusaders with a .318 batting average. He leads the team with 21 runs scored, and ranks second with 22 RBIs.
  • Senior Joe Cravero leads the Crusaders’ starting rotation with a 3.60 ERA through 40.0 innings pitched. In ten appearances he has amassed a team-leading 42 strikeouts. Cravero notched a new career-high with nine strikeouts while earning a win over Lehigh.

KING NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK


  • Senior Brendan King was named the Patriot League Pitcher of the Week after earning a seven-inning shutout victory over Army West Point this past Saturday.

SCOUTING THE SAINTS:

  • Siena is currently 12-18-1 on the season with a 5-4 mark in MAAC play.
  • The Saints are coming off a 1-2 weekend series against Canisius at home this past weekend.
  • Brian Kelly leads Siena’s offense with a .371 batting average on the season. He has tallied 12 RBIs with 14 runs scored on the year.
  • Danny Hobbs leads the Saints’ with a 1.35 ERA through 13.1 innings pitched in relief. He has registered three saves in 13 appearances and holds a 1-1 record.
  • Head coach Tony Rossi is in his 48th season with Siena.
