Baseball Adds Doubleheader Against Yale On May 27
WORCESTER, Mass. - In preparation for the NCAA Tournament, the Holy Cross baseball team has added a doubleheader against Yale this Saturday, May 27. The Crusaders will host the Bulldogs for a pair of games at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field, with game one slated to begin at 3:00 p.m. Both games are scheduled for nine innings each.
The Crusaders clinched their first berth in the NCAA Tournament since 1978 when they captured their first Patriot League Tournament title in program history. Holy Cross defeated Bucknell in two games over the weekend in Worcester, winning game one by a score of 4-3 before winning game two of the series, 11-7 in extra innings.
Yale punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament after winning their sixth Ivy League Championship with a pair of wins over Penn this past Tuesday. The Bulldogs won game one by a score of 5-0 before clinching the title with an 11-7 win in game two.
Following this weekend the Crusaders will look ahead to the NCAA Tournament. The tournament field will be announced this Monday, May 29, with the selection show airing at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
