Crusaders Set For Summer Collegiate League Play
WORCESTER, Mass. – A total of 23 student-athletes from the Holy Cross baseball team are set to compete in summer collegiate leagues across the country this year. The Crusaders will have 11 players begin their summer in Massachusetts, highlighted by three players in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
UPDATE: Sophomore Andrew Selima will also be competing this summer with the Lexington Blue Sox of the Intercity Baseball League.
Rising seniors Pat McGowan and Declan Cronin, along with junior Austin Masel, will begin their summer with the Falmouth Commodores of the CCBL. Four student-athletes will continue to compete at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field with the Worcester Bravehearts. Senior Danny Barlok, senior Alex Gionis, junior Chris Rinaldi and freshman Rob Stone will play for the Bravehearts of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. Also in the FCBL will be junior Zane Hedaya with the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks, and sophomore Garret Keough with the North Shore Navigators. Sophomore Cam Meyer will also be playing in Massachusetts with the Plymouth Pilgrims of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
Five Crusaders will compete in the Cal Ripken League based in Maryland. Junior Jared Enders will compete with the Loudoun Riverdogs, while sophomores Zach Buck and Noah Luckenbaugh will play for the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts. Sophomores Evan Blum and Kyle Johnson will also compete in the league with the Rockville Express. Three student-athletes will compete in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League, including sophomore Eric Lopes with the Westhampton Aviators, sophomore Liam Dvorak with the Long Island Road Warriors and junior Alex Volpi with the Shelter Island Bucks. Sophomore David Kale will compete in New York as well with the Sports KingDome Aces of the Hudson Valley League.
Sophomore Luke Dawson is set to play for the Pompano Beach Clippers of the South Florida League, while classmate Andrew Paraiso will compete for the Winter Garden Squeeze in the Florida Collegiate Summer League. Playing on the west coast this summer will be junior Riley Livingston who will join the Long Beach Legends of the California Collegiate League.
