Holy Cross Announces 2018-2019 Men's Basketball Schedule
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head men’s basketball coach Bill Carmody has announced the Crusaders’ schedule for the 2018-2019 season, which is slated to begin on Nov. 6. The schedule includes 10 games against teams which advanced to postseason play last year, and 15 contests against schools which posted winning records in 2017-2018. The slate also features a total of 14 regular season home games in Worcester.
The Crusaders’ non-conference slate will be highlighted by an appearance in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. Holy Cross will face Michigan and Providence on the road, and will then play two games at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., against Stony Brook and either Norfolk State or Siena. At home, the non-league slate will include visits from reigning Atlantic 10 regular season champion Rhode Island, Canisius, Fairleigh Dickinson, Sacred Heart and Siena.
In Patriot League play, Holy Cross will have home-and-home series against each of the nine other teams in the conference. The league schedule will be highlighted by contests against 2018 Patriot League champion Bucknell and Turnpike Trophy rival Boston University.
All games in the 2019 Patriot League Tournament will take place on the campus of the higher seeded team. The first round will take place on March 5, followed by the quarterfinals on March 7, the semifinal round on March 10 and the championship game on March 13.
The Crusaders return four starters and 11 letterwinners from their 2017-2018 squad which advanced to the Patriot League semifinals, including 2018 Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year Jehyve Floyd.
