The Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns home on Friday, Dec. 23, when it plays host to Marist at 12:05 p.m. The game can be seen online through Crusader Vision and the Patriot League Network, and will also air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Holy Cross currently stands 5-7 overall this season. The Crusaders have won two of their last three games, and are coming off a 72-67 victory at Sacred Heart on Wednesday night. Holy Cross leads the Patriot League in scoring defense (64.8 points per game), steals (8.6 steals per game) assist-to-turnover ratio (1.27-to-1) and turnover margin (+4.3 turnovers per game).

Senior forward Malachi Alexander leads the team by averaging 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game, while hitting 42.6 percent of his three-point field goal attempts. Senior guard Robert Champion has also been playing well, averaging 12.9 points, 3.5 boards and 1.6 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore forward Karl Charles has added 9.3 points, 3.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game.

Marist enters the game with an overall record of 4-8 on the year, including a 1-1 mark in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Red Foxes have lost four straight games and were defeated by Delaware 59-56 on Tuesday.

Senior guard Khallid Hart leads the team by averaging 17.2 points, 2.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game, while hitting 75.4 percent of his free throws. Sophomore forward Ryan Funk has added 13.5 points and 3.1 boards per contest, and sophomore guard Brian Parker is chipping in with 13.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.

Following the contest with Marist, Holy Cross will take a week off for Christmas before returning to action with its Patriot League opener at Boston University on Friday, Dec. 30, at 7:00 p.m.
