The Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns to the court on Thursday, Jan. 5, when it travels to Colgate for a 7:05 p.m. game. The contest between the Crusaders and the Raiders can be seen live on the internet through the Patriot League Network. In addition, the game will air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Holy Cross currently stands 7-8 overall and 1-1 in the Patriot League. The Crusaders have won four of their last six games, and are coming off a 51-50 victory over Navy on Monday night. Holy Cross leads the Patriot League in scoring defense (63.1 points per game), steals (8.8 steals per game), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.31-to-1) and turnover margin (+4.8 turnovers per game).

Senior forward Malachi Alexander leads the team by averaging 14.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Senior guard Robert Champion has also been playing well, averaging 13.8 points, 3.7 boards and 1.8 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore forward Karl Charles has added 8.9 points, 3.9 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Colgate enters the game with an overall record of 3-12 and a 1-1 mark in the Patriot League. The Raiders entered conference play on a seven-game losing streak, but defeated Lafayette 85-75 in their league opener before falling to American 67-64 in overtime.

Freshman forward Will Rayman leads the team by averaging 15.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game so far this season. Junior guard Sean O’Brien has added 12.5 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 boards per contest, while junior forward Jordan Swopshire is chipping in with 10.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

Following the contest with Colgate, Holy Cross will return home to face Bucknell at 1:05 p.m. game on Sunday, Jan. 8.
