The Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns home on Sunday, Jan. 8, to play host to Bucknell at 1:05 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Bison can be seen live on the internet through Crusader Vision and the Patriot League Network. In addition, the game will air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

The Holy Cross-Bucknell series has featured a number of exciting games in recent years, with three of the last six meetings going to overtime. During the 2016 Patriot League Tournament quarterfinals, the Crusaders upset the top-seeded Bison 77-72 in double overtime.

Holy Cross has won five of its last seven games, and is coming off a 67-61 victory at Colgate on Thursday night. The Crusaders lead the Patriot League in scoring defense (63.0 points per game), steals (8.7 steals per game), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.32-to-1) and turnover margin (+4.9 turnovers per game).

Senior forward Malachi Alexander leads the team by averaging 14.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Senior guard Robert Champion has also been playing well, averaging 13.7 points, 3.8 boards and 1.7 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore forward Karl Charles has added 9.2 points, 4.0 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Bucknell enters the game with an overall record of 11-5 and a 3-0 mark in the Patriot League. The Bison have won four of their last five games, including a 69-60 victory at American on Thursday.

Junior forward Zach Thomas leads the team by averaging 16.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game so far this season. Junior center Nana Foulland has added 14.4 points, 8.3 boards and 2.1 blocks per contest, while sophomore guard Kimbal Mackenzie is chipping in with 10.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

Following the contest with Bucknell, Holy Cross will remain at home to face Lafayette at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
