The Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns home this week, to face Loyola (Md.) in a 7:05 p.m. contest on Wednesday, Feb. 22. The game between the Crusaders and the Greyhounds can be seen live on the internet through Crusader Vision the Patriot League Network. In addition, the contest will air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Holy Cross stands 14-15 on the year with an 8-8 mark in Patriot League play. The Crusaders have won two of their last three games, and are coming off a 69-54 victory at American on Sunday. Holy Cross leads the Patriot League in scoring defense (62.3 points per game), steals (9.4 steals per game), turnover margin (+4.9 turnovers per game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.23-to-1).

The Crusaders are currently tied with Colgate and Loyola for fifth place in the Patriot League with two games remaining. Holy Cross can still finish as high as third or as low as seventh in the final conference standings.

Senior forward Malachi Alexander leads the team by averaging 13.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. Senior guard Robert Champion has also enjoyed a strong season, averaging 13.0 points, 3.3 boards and 1.6 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore forward Karl Charles has added 9.6 points, 3.7 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Loyola enters the game with an overall record of 14-13 and an 8-8 mark in the Patriot League. The Greyhounds have dropped three of their last four games, including a 66-56 overtime loss to Colgate on Sunday.

Junior guard Andre Walker leads the team by averaging 15.1 points, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game, while hitting 37.6 percent of his three-point attempts and 86.8 percent of his free throws. Senior forward Jarred Jones is also enjoying a strong year, with averages of 15.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

Following the contest with Loyola, Holy Cross will conclude the regular season by playing host to Boston University at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25.
