Holy Cross Announces 2017-2018 Men's Basketball Schedule

WORCESTER, Mass. — Holy Cross director of athletics Nathan Pine and head men’s basketball coach Bill Carmody have announced the Crusaders’ schedule for the 2017-2018 season. Holy Cross will play seven games against teams which advanced to postseason play last year, and as many as 12 contests against schools which posted winning records in 2016-2017. The slate also features a total of 14 home games at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex.

Season tickets are now on sale for another action-packed winter at the Hart Center, and as a special thank you to our fans the VIP season ticket deadline has been extended until Oct. 2. HOLY CROSS TO PLAY IN BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME BELFAST CLASSIC
The Crusaders will take part in the 2017 Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic, which will be played at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from Dec. 1-2, 2017. Holy Cross will face Manhattan in the opening round on Dec. 1, and will then take on either La Salle or Towson on Dec. 2.

CRUSADERS TO PLAY FIVE NON-CONFERENCE HOME GAMES
The home portion of Holy Cross’ non-league slate will begin with an exhibition game against Assumption on Nov. 1. The Crusaders will then play four contests against schools which won at least 18 games last season, beginning with in-state rival Harvard on Nov. 16. Other non-conference home games come against Albany (Nov. 25), New Hampshire (Dec. 9) and defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference champion Iona (Dec. 19).

ATLANTIC 10 FOES HIGHLIGHT NON-LEAGUE ROAD SLATE
The non-conference schedule includes five road games this year, including two contests against foes from the Atlantic 10 Conference. Holy Cross will face NCAA Tournament participant Rhode Island on Nov. 19, in addition to heading to Massachusetts on Dec. 9.

THE PURSUIT OF A SEVENTH PATRIOT LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
The six all-time Patriot League titles won by Holy Cross are the most in the history of the conference, and the Crusaders will look to bring home their seventh championship this winter! Key home dates will come against 2017 Patriot League champion Bucknell (Feb. 17, 12:05 p.m.), 2017 Patriot League tournament runner-up Lehigh (Jan. 29, 7:05 p.m.) and Turnpike Trophy rival Boston University (Jan. 14, 1:05 p.m.). The 2017 Patriot League Tournament will run from Feb. 27-March 7, with all games being played on the campus of the higher seeded team.
