Holy Cross Women’s Basketball To “Play 4 Kay” This Saturday
The Holy Cross women’s basketball team and the Play 4 Kay Foundation have partnered for this Saturday’s game against Bucknell at 12:05 p.m. Play 4 Kay is an initiative women’s basketball programs across the country have participated in since 2007 to support breast cancer research and raise awareness. The foundation was founded nearly a decade ago to promote the vision of North Carolina State head women’s basketball coach Kay Yow, who fought breast cancer three different times over the course of twenty years before passing away in 2009.
Holy Cross Athletics will welcome PinkHippy.Org of Worcester to Saturday’s game to take part in the day’s festivities. PinkHippy.Org aims to provide complementary holistic services and support to local patients, survivors and their families. During a media timeout in the first half, Holy Cross will recognize Linda Halloran, a breast cancer survivor who has since founded the Breast Friends Connection to support women going through treatment.Tickets start at just four dollars. To reserve your tickets for this special event, call the Holy Cross ticket office at 1-844-GOCROSS or go online to www.goholycross.com/tickets.
