WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore Lauren Manis earned her fourth double-double of the season for the Holy Cross women’s basketball team with 18 points and 13 rebounds, but the Crusaders fell to Boston College 70-61 on Wednesday night at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex.

Senior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed also scored in double figures for Holy Cross (3-5), tallying 15 points with a pair of steals. Sophomore Madalyn Smith added eight points with two assists while shooting 3-for-5 from the field. The Eagles (4-5) were led by Georgia Pineau, who earned a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. 

Boston College shot 48.9 percent from the field, while Holy Cross shot 33.3 percent. The Eagles also had the edge in rebounds, 43-31. 


  • Following the game, Manis was selected as the Woman of the Match presented the United States Marines.
  • She led Holy Cross with 18 points and 13 rebounds while adding a game-high four steals.


  • Holy Cross held the advantage throughout most of the first quarter, leading by as many as six points in the later stages of the quarter. The Crusaders led 16-13 at the end of one.
  • Boston College battled into a three-point lead early in the second quarter but Holy Cross managed to tie the game 25-25 before heading to the locker room at halftime.
  • The Eagles led by nine points late in the third quarter, but a last-second three-point shot from Smith made it a 48-42 game at the end of the third.
  • The Crusaders were within one point early in the fourth, but Boston College put together an 11-1 run to extend its lead en route to a 70-61 win.


  • Boston College saw 66 of its 70 points scored (94%) from their starters, notching just four points from the bench.
  • The Crusaders tallied 23 points off turnovers.
  • The Eagles shot 41.7% (5-for-12) from behind the arc, while Holy Cross shot 25% (6-for-24).


  • Holy Cross returns to action this Saturday, Dec. 9, as the Crusaders play host to Vermont at 12:05 p.m.
