WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women’s basketball team is back in action Sunday, as the Crusaders travel to Rhode Island to face the Rams in Kingston. Sunday’s game will be broadcast online via the Atlantic 10 Network. In addition, the game will be broadcast on Emmauel Radio (1230 AM | 1230radio.com) with Bob Fouracre on play-by-play.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS
• Holy Cross most recently earned a 64-53 victory over Vermont on Dec. 9 in Worcester.
• Senior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed notched her 1,000th career point in the win over Vermont with a jump shot in the third quarter. She became the 33rd player in program history to reach the milestone.
• Sophomore Lauren Manis leads the Patriot League with 19.0 points per game and ranks third in rebounds per game with 9.6. She set a new career-high with 28 points in the loss at Hofstra, and recorded the 12th double-double of her career against Boston College.
• The Crusaders finished their 2016-2017 campaign with an overall record of 8-22, and a 6-12 mark in the Patriot League.
• Manis was named the 2016-2017 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, while Katie Doherty earned Academic All-Patriot League honors.

SERIES QUICK HITS
• The Crusaders are 7-3 all-time against Rhode Island.
• In the last meeting between the two programs, Holy Cross earned an 80-71 win over the Rams on Jan. 5, 2010 in Worcester.
• The first meeting between these two teams took place on Nov. 25, 1988, with the Crusaders earning an 87-68 victory.
• In games played in Kingston, Holy Cross holds the series edge at 4-1.

LAST TIME OUT
• Senior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed reached 1,000 career points with a jump shot in the third quarter as the Holy Cross women’s basketball team defeated Vermont 64-52 on Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex.
• Thomas-Waheed registered a double-double to lead Holy Cross (4-5) with a game-high 24 points and 10 rebounds. 
• Freshman Jenay Faulkner also had a strong game with 13 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
•Sophomore Lauren Manis finished the game with nine points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals.
• Vermont (2-8) was led by Cassidy Derda, who tallied 17 points and seven rebounds while shooting 5-for-7 from behind the arc.
• The Crusaders shot 44.1% (26-for-59) from the field, while the Catamounts hit 35.7% (20-for-55) of their shots.
• In the second half, Holy Cross shot 55% (17-for-31).
•The Crusaders had a solid edge in rebounds, 44-28.
• Holy Cross scored 18 points off turnovers, and notched 14 points off the bench.

SCOUTING REPORT ON URI
• Rhode Island stands 2-8 on the season and is coming off a 62-47 win over Fairfield following eight-straight losses. Their first win of the season was an 81-64 victory over UMass Lowell.
• Last season, Rhode Island went 6-23 overall with a 2-14 record in Atlantic 10 play. They were eliminated by St. Joseph’s in the first round of their conference postseason, 77-51.
• Nicole Jorgensen leads the Rams in scoring, averaging 12.0 points per game.
• Jorgensen is also the top rebounder for Rhode Island, posting an average of 6.0 boards per game.
• Head coach Daynia La-Force is in her fourth season with the Rams.
