These three Recycling Days will be held in the coming weeks. The first will take place when men’s ice hockey faces Army West Point on Friday, Feb. 17, at 7:00 p.m. The second Recycling Day will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, when women’s basketball faces American at 1:00 p.m. The men’s basketball team will hold the last Recycling Day on Wednesday, Feb. 22, when they play host to Loyola (Md.) at 7:00 p.m.
At Holy Cross, sustainability is not a buzzword — it is part of our collective responsibility. Safeguarding the environment for future generations reflects our Jesuit mission. We embrace this challenge at all levels of our institution, from College-wide initiatives that reduce electrical usage to student-driven programs that promote climate-friendly practices.
Beyond providing great quality, great prices and great customer service, Big Y also tries to be smart about the resources they use, how much energy they consume and how they handle whatever waste they create. While Big Y has always been mindful, over the past few years they have made a massive company-wide effort to be as earth-friendly as they can. These efforts have paid off, as over the past three years Big Y has reduced its total consumption by more than 5,000,000 kWh.
