C&R TIRE CRUSADER OF THE WEEK

Junior Alanna Hitscherich has been named the C&R Tire Crusader of the Week, for competition from Jan. 30-Feb. 5. Hitscherich set a new school record while leading the Holy Cross women’s track and field team to a third place finish at the Rhode Island Coaches Invitational on Saturday. FEATURE STORY OF THE WEEK

During the spring of 2017, every Holy Cross student-athlete who had a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the 2016 fall semester will proudly wear a patch to signify this accomplishment on their jersey or jacket. For the complete story, click here.


HOLY CROSS ATHLETICS TOP FIVE

Here is a look at this week’s top five noteworthy moments in Holy Cross Athletics:

* Men’s ice hockey junior Danny Lopez recorded his first collegiate hat trick during Friday’s 8-2 victory over AIC.

* Women’s ice hockey sophomore Sam Girard had a goal and assist in the 2-1 victory over Norwich, Holy Cross’ first win over the Cadets since 2008.

* Men’s swimming sophomore Steve Tierney won all three of his individual events during Friday’s 168-123 victory over Springfield.

* Women’s basketball junior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed scored a career-high 26 points as the Crusaders downed Patriot League leader Bucknell 63-51.

* Men’s basketball senior Robert Champion totaled 17 points, six rebounds and four assists in Wednesday’s 56-50 victory over Colgate.
