C&R TIRE CRUSADER OF THE WEEK

Junior Zoe Matherne has been named the C&R Tire Crusader of the Week, for competition from Feb. 20-26. Matherne won the New England title in the 1,000-meter run for the Holy Cross women’s indoor track and field team at the New England Championship. For the complete story, click here.

HOLY CROSS ATHLETICS TOP FIVE

Here is a look at this week’s top five noteworthy moments in Holy Cross Athletics:

* The crowd of 3,548 for the men’s basketball game vs. Boston University on Saturday marked the first sell out at the new Luth Athletic Complex.

* Women’s ice hockey senior Elizabeth Scala and junior Kara Violette were named to the All-NEHC Open Tournament team.

* Men’s lacrosse defeated Lehigh 14-8 on Saturday, good for the team’s first ever victory over the Mountain Hawks.

* Men’s ice hockey senior Mike Barrett recorded his first career hat trick during Friday night’s 5-4 overtime victory at Bentley.

* Men’s basketball senior Robert Champion posted his sixth 20-point game of the season on Saturday against Boston University.
