Holy Cross Honors Outstanding Achievements At Crusader Awards

The Crusader Awards, the annual spectacular which showcases and honors the amazing accomplishments of Holy Cross student-athletes and teams, was held Monday night in Downtown Worcester at the historic Mechanics Hall! The third annual event, which was hosted by Charter TV3's Kevin Shea, featured entertaining videos, live musical performances and awards honoring the great achievements of the Crusaders during the 2016-2017 season.

This season was a banner year for Holy Cross Athletics and the 2017 Crusader Awards was one for the history books!

Women's Team of the Year

Women's Cross Country:
Second at the ECAC Championship for its best finish ever and third at the Patriot League Championship for its best finish in 15 years!

Men's Team of the Year

Men's Ice Hockey:

Two wins over ranked opponents (#11 Providence and #20 Union) and went 3-1-1 against NCAA Tournament teams!

Marcia LaPlante, Field Hockey, Ice Hockey:

Field Hockey: Patriot League Rookie of the Year, Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year, First Team All-Patriot League, 1.81 goals against average, 138 saves, 2 shutouts!

Ice Hockey: 1.35 goals against average, 127 saves, 3 shutouts!
