Marc Buermann Named Patriot League Offensive Player Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass - Holy Cross senior men’s lacrosse midfielder Marc Buermann has been named the Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office. This is the first time in his career that Buermann has earned this honor.
Buermann led the team with three goals and two assists for five points as the Crusaders defeated Bucknell for the first time in program history on March 11. The Bison had won the previous 27 meetings. Buermann broke a 8-8 tie when he scored the game winner. Buermann has scored at least one goal in 13 straight games. He entered the game with the eighth longest streak in the nation. The hat trick for Buermann was his second of the season and the fifth of his career. His game-winning goal was his first of the season and the fourth of his career.
For the season, Buermann is tied for first on the team with 10 goals, while his four assists are tied for third and his 14 points are second. He has 59 goals and 24 assists for 83 career points.
The Crusaders (2-4, 2-1 Patriot League) return to action on Saturday, March 18, when they host No. 8 Army West Point (6-1, 2-0 Patriot League) at 2:05 p.m. The Crusaders’ 2-1 Patriot League record ties their best start ever as they also began the Patriot League season 2-1 in 2015.
