Crusader Notes For April 21

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross baseball team begins a six-game home stand with a doubleheader against Brown on Wednesday, April 22. During the game, the Crusaders will welcome their Faculty Coach of the Day, Professor John Carter. Holy Cross will host Navy in a four-game Patriot League series on April 25-26. The Crusaders will be raising Breast Cancer Awareness throughout Saturday's doubleheader and during Sunday's doubleheader; Holy Cross will hold its annual Senior Day, honoring the Class of 2009. The Holy Cross softball team will travel to Harvard on April 23 for a doubleheader starting at 3:00 p.m. The Crusaders will then hit the road for their last Patriot League regular season games, traveling to Bethlehem, Pa. for a four-game series with Lehigh on April 25-26. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on both days.
The Holy Cross men's track and field team will host Clark, New Hampshire, Quinnipiac, Rhode Island and Worcester State at the Hart Track on Tuesday, April 21. The women's track and field team will travel to Philadelphia, Pa. for the Penn Relays on Thursday-Saturday, April 23-25.
The men's lacrosse team will conclude the season on April 22 when they play at Bryant at 7:00 p.m. The women's lacrosse team concluded the season with a 1-1 record on the week. The Crusaders fell to UConn, 10-9, while they defeated American, 16-12.
The men's golf team wraps up the 2008-2009 season on Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, when it takes part in the Patriot League Championship, to be held at the West Point Golf Course in West Point, N.Y. The Patriot League Championship will consist of 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. The women's golf team wrapped up the 2008-2009 season by placing ninth out of 11 schools at the Jack Leaman Invitational, held at the Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Mass., and the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass. The Crusaders finished with a team total of 738 strokes over two rounds.
The men's rowing team will host Delaware on Sunday, April 26. The women's rowing team will host Boston College on Saturday, April 25. The Crusaders will also compete in the Patriot League Championships on Sunday, April 26.
The men's tennis team concluded the season with a 4-14 record. The women's tennis team, who went 3-0 last week, will compete at the Patriot League Tournament. They will play on April 24 versus a team to be announced.
