Colucci gained fame at Holy Cross as one of the Grand Opera Twins with teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Jim Cavalieri. He was a skill end who wrecked havoc with opposing ball carriers. In the 1930 game against Harvard he ran 50 yards with a pass reception and he paved the way for a 27-0 win for the Crusaders. On the baseball field he was an excellent outfielder. After graduation he became the supervisor of the Quincy Shipyard Apprentice School.
