Biography
Petz graduated as one of the top
offensive players in Holy Cross history. He finished his
career as the program's all-time goal scorer with 34, while his 74
career points were second all-time at both Holy Cross and in
the Patriot League. Petz blossomed into an offensive force in
his junior season, receiving Patriot League Player of the Week
honors once while making the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and
First Team All-Patriot League.
Petz led the Patriot League with 11 goals his senior year,
propelling the Crusaders to a 5-0-1 conference record and its first
ever Patriot League regular season crown. He was named
Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week three times that
season, including two consecutive weeks. The 1995 Patriot
League Offensive Player of the Year, he also earned Patriot League
men's soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year that campaign, along with
First Team All-Patriot League and First Team All-New England
honors.
The 1996 recipient of the John Meegan Athletic Achievement Award,
Petz graduated with a degree in economics and accounting. He
was named to the Patriot League All-Decade Team for the 1990s.
