Biography

"Chick" Bowen was a four-year starting centerfielder for the Crusaders.  He had a career batting average of .326, and never missed a single one of the 106 games Holy Cross played during his four years in Worcester. He served as captain of the 1919 team that won the Eastern Collegiate Championship with a record of 21-1. After graduation, Bowen coached at his high school alma mater, Hillhouse High in New Haven, Conn., for many years.
