Biography

After a stellar career at Cathedral High School in Springfield, Mass., Mayotte became an immediate factor on the HC tennis scene. He won both the Worcester County Singles and Brandeis Eastern Intercollegiate Championship during his sophomore year, and posted a 12-1 match record. In addition, he and fellow Hall of Famer John Hughes compiled a 7-0 record in doubles as they won the Western New England Championship.

In his junior year, Mayotte led the Crusaders to an 11-2 record and fourth place in the New England Tournament while he and Hughes were runners up in the New England Doubles Championship. As a senior, he was unbeaten as the team compiled a 13-0 undefeated season, the first in program history. During that season, Mayotte and his partner, Marc Young, were undefeated in doubles.  Mayotte lost only one singles match during his varsity career and played on teams which compiled a 35-4 record overall (including 21 consecutive wins).
