Reilly was a three-year starter for the Holy Cross men’s basketball team, which posted an overall record of 38-26. Reilly notched 523 points in his tenure at HC, averaging 8.2 points a game. He held the Holy Cross scoring record for 20 years, until it was broken by All-American George Kaftan ’49.
As a senior, Reilly scored 154 points over 15 games, averaging 10.3 points per contest. For his career, Reilly accounted for 25.6 percent of the Crusaders’ total offense, scoring 523 of HC's 2,040 total points from 1924-1928. He served as team captain as a senior and led Holy Cross to a 13-6 mark, posting the second highest win total in school history to that point.
After graduating from HC, Reilly went to Columbia Presbyterian Medical School before serving as a General Practitioner in Westchester County for over 40 years.
