Brissette was the starting second baseman on the 1952 College World Series Championship squad and was the batting star of the 15-3 win over Western Michigan when he had a pair of doubles. The national championship team went 22-3 overall and featured Hall of Famers Jim O'Neill, Johnny Turco, Pete Naton and Ron Perry.  He was selected as the District I All Star at second base following both his junior and senior seasons.  He batted .275 during the national championship season, followed up with a .328 average in 1953 and hit .292 as a senior in 1954. After graduation he enjoyed a successful career in the radio and TV industry.
