Biography
Curran was a two-sport captain for the Crusaders, serving in that capacity for the 1947-48 men's basketball team, and the 1948 baseball squad. He was a three-year starter in baseball, and a key man on the Crusaders’ 1947 NCAA men's basketball championship team which posted a 27-3 record. In his senior year, the basketball team went 26-4 and finished third in the NCAA's. Curran went into coaching upon graduation, and eventually spent seven seasons (1952-59) as the head coach at the Univeristy of Massachusetts. He was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003. He passed away in 1977.
