Biography

Lefebvre is yet another in a long line of former greats in baseball at Holy Cross, both as a hitter and as a pitcher. He played under the great Jack Barry on Crusader teams that won 51 games, lost nine and tied one. He led the Crusaders with a 4-1 record and a 1.61 earned run average as a sophomore when Holy Cross went 20-2 and was the Eastern champion. He was the Crusaders' top pitcher and one of its better hitters on 16-2-1 and 15-5 teams as a junior and senior. "Lefty" later played with both the Red Sox and Washington Senators and for 16 years was the baseball coach at Brown University. He retired in the mid-70's and went on to serve as a scout for the Red Sox.
