Biography
Bellerose arrived at Holy Cross to
play for coach Bill Kane in 1973 after a standout career at St.
Peter's High School in Worcester. He made an immediate impact
as a freshman, scoring a team-high 31 goals in 23 games and earning
ECAC Co-Rookie of the Year honors in 1974.
In his four years on Mount St. James, Bellerose created a fearsome
scoring pair with fellow Hall of Famer Glenn Graves. He
finished his career third in career goals at Holy Cross with 71 and
third in career points with 152. As a senior in 1976-1977, he
was chosen to the ECAC All-Star team and selected as an
All-American Honorable Mention when he and Graves co-captained the
squad.
Bellerose made the transition from the ice to behind the bench
after graduation. From 1977-1988, he was an assistant coach
at Holy Cross, and then served as head coach from 1988-1993.
In November 1992, he was named associate director and business
manager of athletics.
