Biography

Doran suffered a serious back injury in an automobile accident as a sophomore, and played with a bad back in each of his final two seasons, scoring many of his 1,268 career points as HC's sixth man. He served two seasons as co-captain, the first Crusader to be so honored since 1905.   He also excelled on the diamond, where he served as a captain as a senior.  He graduated with the single-season record for hits in a season, set during his junior year. Selected Crusader of the Year in 1977, he was also an Academic All-American and won an NCAA Post-Graduate scholarship. He was drafted by the New Jersey Nets in 1977.
